Observations of in Dense Molecular Clouds

چکیده
has been detected using infrared absorption spectroscopy along the lines of sight to six infrared 3 sources in dense molecular clouds : AFGL 2136, W33A, Mon R2 IRS 3, AFGL 961E, AFGL 2591, and AFGL 490. Upper limits to the column densities of are reported for an additional nine sources. The 3 column densities of CO toward Mon R2 IRS 3 and AFGL 961E have been determined from observations of the Ðrst-overtone lines of CO. For the six sources toward which was detected, a simple 3 model of chemistry has been used together with column densities of derived from infrared CO 3 2 measurements to estimate column lengths, mean number densities, and temperatures of molecular clouds. The derived column lengths are on the order of a parsec, the number densities are 104È105 cm~3, and the temperatures are D25È50 K. Carbon Chemistry in Dense Molecular Cwuds: Theory and Observational Constraints
fur the most part, gas phase models of the chemistry of dense molecular clouds predict the abundances of simple species rather well. However, for larger molecules and even for small systems rich in carbon these models often fail spectacularly. We present a brief review of the basic assumptions and results of large scale modeling of the carbon chemistry in dense molecular clouds. Particular atte...

متن کاملObservations of chemical differentiation in clumpy molecular clouds.
We have extensively mapped a sample of dense molecular clouds (L1512, TMC-1C, L1262, Per7, L1389, L1251E) in lines of HC3N, CH3OH, SO and C18O. We demonstrate that a high degree of chemical differentiation is present in all of the observed clouds. We analyse the molecular maps for each cloud, demonstrating a systematic chemical differentiation across the sample, which we relate to the evolution...
متن کاملStructure and Conditions in Massive Star Forming Giant Molecular Clouds
Massive stars form in clusters within self-gravitating molecular clouds. The size scale of these clusters is sufficiently large that nonthermal, or turbulent, motions of the gas must be taken into account when considering their formation. Millimeter wavelength radio observations of the gas and dust in these clouds reveal a complex, self-similar structure that reflects the turbulent nature of th...

Context. The amount of molecular gas is a key to understanding the future star formation in a galaxy. Because H2 is difficult to observe directly in dense and cold clouds, tracers such as the CO molecule are used. However, at low metallicities especially, CO only traces the shielded interiors of the clouds. In this context, millimeter dust emission can be used as a tracer to unveil the total de...
متن کامل3D Classification of Urban Features Based on Integration of Structural and Spectral Information from UAV Imagery
Three-dimensional classification of urban features is one of the important tools for urban management and the basis of many analyzes in photogrammetry and remote sensing. Therefore, it is applied in many applications such as planning, urban management and disaster management. In this study, dense point clouds extracted from dense image matching is applied for classification in urban areas. Appl...
